Day 1:
From these interviews I learned that the 3 women interviewed were empowered thinkers and liked to have fun with their lives. They are all confedent in their jobs and other things they do. http://memory.loc.gov/ammem/wpaintro/women.html
But all of these poeple combined work hard and worked hard to get through the great depression. In order to feed their families, provide them with clothes, a house, and a bed to sleep in, these people would have to work very hard for long hours to get enough money to live.

Day 2:
1. Jesse Owens is the person being interviewed. He is an olympic runner. He is known as the fastest runner in the world. He is a negro or he has brown skin and he is being interviewed at the age of 26. This interview is takin place on April 22, 1939 in Cleveland Ohio. The interviwer is Rhussus L. Perry, Writer.

Jesse Owens was born to sharecropper parents and was one of 8 children. After his family migrated to America, he joined his high school track team where a person timed him to run. His time was startling. Then he tried the 200- meter dash and one that in the olympics. He was the fourth american to win that title. He made many different running acomplishments and broke many records in his time.
My impressions of Jesse Owens are that he lived a very successful life and accomplished a lot of things that were inportant to him. I think he is a fantastic runner and he has a lot of fun doing it. I think It's great he does something great for the country in the Olympics, but also enjoys doing it.

2. Jim Davis is the person being interviewed. Jim Davis was born in Port of Spain, Trinidad, British West Indies, in the year 1878. He was a Red Jacket on a ship.He is an Indian man and at the time of the interview, he was about 60 years old. The interview was on October 18, 1938. The interviewer was Helen S. Hartley.
My impression of Jim Davis is kind of a boring one because firstly, the interview didn't really catch my interest. His life story didn't really appeal to me because I am not that interested in "Life at sea" too much. It also says he could only get odd jobs to make money for his family. But all in all, my first impression of this character is not a good one.

From reading these interviews, I learned that people who lived through the Great Depression worked very hard to get through the difficult times. Prejudice was everywhere.African American Interview exerpt

Mr. Grove was answering questions about his life as an older, retired negro farmer. He explained that, as he grew older, food and money became harder and harder to come by. His physical well being was also much worse than it used to be, so that also made it difficult to come by the nessecities for survival. He also touched on the kindness of younger folks. He told the interviewer that a man had told him to wait a minute while he was on his way home from the store. Then the mans child came up with some food and meat in a bucket for Issac. He was touched, and thankful, because without that, he probably wouldnt have had any meat that week.
